Dear Parents and Guardians:

On Monday, September 23, the Department of Education will observe DADS – Take Your Child to School Day statewide.  This initiative is a wonderful opportunity for Dads or other male role models to get involved in their child’s education and to highlight the significant difference they can make by taking a more active role in a child’s academic development.  The goal is for Fathers (or other significant male figures in the child’s life) to take their kids to school and learn a little about how important they are to their teen’s academic success.

This free Dad and student(s) only event will take place in the school’s Media Center between the hours of 7:30 am – 8:30 am.  Activities will include:  visiting with your child, taking pictures, and joining us for doughnuts.  The guest speaker for the event will be school board member, Reginald Daniels.  MCHS Journalism students will be covering the event for the local newspaper.  Stay tuned to the “Shout Out” video created for men in our students lives.  Please be sure to browse through our resource “stations” to obtain information about the school and programs offered.  Subject area teachers may provide handouts including important details they want you to know about classes being offered or important dates to remember.

Please RSVP with your student by Wednesday, September 18 and will sign up in the library by this date.
