Staff,

As a District during these times, we are focusing on two goals. One goal is to keep staff and students safe and healthy.  Our next goal is to keep learning going.  Thus; beginning March 30, we will be moving to home-based education at least through April 15.

Thanks to the entire staff for banning together to make this a reality.  There have been many hours and people making sure that we met our deadline. We will have hiccups but we will be there to support each other.

During this past week we served an average of 600 meals daily with the numbers increasing each day.  The Community Lunch Program will continue as long as needed.  Hats of the Food Service Department for doing such a phenomenal job.

Last week we distributed approximately 1000 Chromebooks.  This too was an outstanding feat spearheaded by the IT (Technology) Department.

I can’t call each of you out to personally to recognize you, but I want you to know that I personally thank you for making things happen. Some of us had to step out of our comfort zone to help, but that is “’family.”  When it is truly about the kids and making this a better world, you stepped up to the plate.

On Monday, March 30 Madison County School District will embark upon a different way of doing things. While for many; this is a brand-new way to experience education. We truly understand this will be challenging for many (staff, students and families), and we will be available to support as needed. We ask for your patience, understanding, and feedback as we transition and work through the inevitable challenges we will experience along the way.
