2020-2021 Band Commitment Form – Parent/Student Expectations

Due: Friday, May 15th, 2020

During the 2020-21 school year students will have the opportunity to participate in the Madison County High School Vaquero Guard. Every band student at MCHS will be registered for a curricular concert ensemble which will meet during the day. Students who are in the Marching Band will attend class together as well as rehearsals and performances that meet outside of the school day.  Students who choose to be in the band will still get a grade for their respective band class.

In order to maintain a successful marching band program, it is essential for every participating student, teacher, and parent to commit to the activity. This document outlines the basic expectations for each of these “players” in our marching band family. Please read this document carefully before signing below.

Students who commit to being a part of the 2020-21 band will be making a full season commitment to participate in all football games, parades, concerts, and contests from August through May.  Without a firm commitment from each student, it would be impossible for us to design an effective show with proper drill, staging, and music.

*** Losing members partway through the season or over the summer will have a dramatic musical & visual impact on every show thereafter.
