MCHS Robotics VEX Tower Takeover
Thirteen Robotic Design Essentials and Robotics Systems students traveled to Gainesville to compete in the VEX Tower Takeover tournament on October 19. Madison County High School entered two teams for this event. The morning was spent competing with other teams and against other teams in a Round Robin, earning points in each event that would decide the seeding for the afternoon single elimination tournament. Both teams were made mostly of students competing in their very first tournament, with only 3 students having prior experience. The Madison County High School "Curdog" team came away from the 22 team tournament with the "Energy" award, one of only 11 issued for the event. This is the first award that MCHS has received for a robotics tournament, and only the third tournament in which the school has participated.
