We are so excited to welcome our families back for the 2026-2027 school year! To help you kick off the year right, both Madison County Central School and Madison County High School will be hosting their Open House on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
To make things easier for parents with students in multiple grade levels, we have purposely overlapped the times so you can visit both schools on the same evening without having to clear your schedule for two separate days!

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share key start dates so your family can plan accordingly. Please note that we will have a staggered start for students this year to ensure a smooth transition.
Monday, August 3rd: Teachers and staff return for Pre-Planning.
Monday, August 10th: School begins for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 9th Grade students.
Wednesday, August 12th: School begins for all other grades.

Madison County School District Announces New Principal for Madison County High School
The Madison County School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Peggy Hasty as the new principal of Madison County High School, effective July 1, 2026.
Mrs. Hasty brings nearly two decades of exceptional leadership and educational experience to this role. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to student success, the development of positive school cultures, and the cultivation of meaningful partnerships among students, families, staff, and the broader community.
As a 1999 graduate of Madison County High School, Mrs. Hasty’s appointment represents a meaningful homecoming. Her extensive background as an educator and administrator is supported by a strong academic foundation, having earned an Associate Degree from North Florida College, followed by both a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University.
Her comprehensive experience, combined with a reputation for a strong work ethic and a dedication to excellence, ensures she is well prepared to lead Madison County High School into its next chapter of achievement.
A long-time resident of Madison County, Mrs. Hasty and her husband, Jeff Hasty, are the proud parents of seven children and remain deeply invested in the local community. Guided by the core values of collaboration, integrity, and service, she looks forward to working alongside faculty, families, and local stakeholders to build upon the school's established traditions.
"I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as principal of Madison County High School," said Mrs. Hasty. "I look forward to building strong relationships, celebrating our successes, and working together to provide every student with opportunities to thrive academically, socially, and personally."

Location: Boothill (Football Field)--Home Side Only
Gates Open: 6:00 PM
Ceremony Begins: 7:00 PM
🛑 Graduation Guidelines & Policies
To ensure a smooth and safe event for everyone, please take note of the following venue rules:
🛡️ Security: Metal detectors will be in use at the gate.
👜 Bags: Clear bag policy is strictly enforced. **NO gift bags** allowed.
🎈 Prohibited Items: NO balloons and NO tobacco products (VAPES included).
🚪 Entry: NO RE-ENTRY once you leave the venue.
🌧️ Inclement Weather Plan
If the weather doesn't permit an outdoor ceremony on the football field, the graduation will move inside to the MCHS Gym.
🎟️ Please note: Graduates will receive 6 contingency plan tickets in case of rain. You must present a ticket to enter the gym.

Madison County School District families, please remember to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed tonight. Daylight Saving Time officially begins tomorrow, **Sunday, March 8th**, at 2:00 AM.
While most smartphones and digital devices will update automatically, don't forget to adjust your traditional clocks, watches, and household appliances.
**A couple of quick weekend reminders:**
* Please ensure your family is adjusted to the time change so students arrive on time for school on Monday morning.
* The start of Daylight Saving Time is also the perfect time to test your home's smoke detectors and replace the batteries if needed.
