Bus rider safety is an important responsibility shared by students, drivers, school staff, and families. Students must understand that appropriate behavior on the bus is essential to keeping everyone safe. Remaining seated, following the driver’s directions, keeping the aisles clear, and avoiding distractions help the driver stay focused on the road.
The school bus is an extension of the school environment, and the same expectations for respect, responsibility, and good behavior apply. When students make safe choices, they help create a calm and secure ride for everyone. By working together and taking bus safety seriously, we can help ensure that every student arrives at school and returns home safely each day.

Just a reminder about Homecoming Week. We are excited for a fun spirited filled week. Go Cowboys!

Good evening. Just a reminder that tomorrow, September 23rd is an early release day. MCHS will dismiss at 11:50am.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and Madison County High School is emphasizing the importance of regular, on-time attendance. Every day in school provides students with valuable instructional time, opportunities to engage with teachers and classmates, and progress toward successful course completion and graduation. The first bell is at 7:56am.
At MCHS, attendance is the first of our ABCs to Mastering Cowboy Success—Attendance, Behavior, and Course Completion. Missing school regularly can lead to learning gaps, lower academic performance, missed assignments and assessments, and difficulty staying on track for graduation.
We ask our students and families to make regular attendance a priority. Every day matters, every class matters, and every Cowboy matters. Please check your child's Skyward for missed classes to ensure regular attendance is being met daily.
Attend Today. Achieve Tomorrow.

🎓 Attention MCHS Seniors & Families! 🤠
Senior Portraits are tomorrow, Monday, September 21, 2026, from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM in the MCHS Media Center. BPI Photography will be on campus, and we need ALL seniors in attendance. The makeup date will be October 19, 2026.
As we continue through this important senior year, we also want to remind our students and families that attendance, behavior, and coursework matter. Senior attendance is currently an area in need of improvement, and we are asking our families to partner with us in ensuring students attend school and class daily. Senior privileges will be reviewed at the end of each nine weeks based on attendance, behavior, and coursework.
On a positive note, senior discipline is at an all-time low! We are proud of our seniors for stepping up as leaders and role models at MCHS and want to see that continue.
Our Administration, Graduation Coach, Guidance Department, and Instructional Coach Team are working diligently to ensure every senior understands exactly what is needed to earn their diploma and successfully transition into employment, enlistment, or further education.
Parents and guardians, we appreciate your partnership. Together, we can help our seniors finish strong and walk across that stage prepared and confident!
Questions or concerns? Contact MCHS at 850-973-5061.
